Breastfeeding, Prolactin and Luteal Phase Defect

Prolactin is released during breastfeeding. Even when your menstrual cycles return, there may be high levels of prolactin in your body. Prolactin suppresses ovulation and causes luteal phase defects, which can also hinder conception.
